The Naked Investor

Story

Yes, that's an old photo. Taken in around 1976, when most of you weren't even born.
Back then I was young, fit, and had hair (red hair perhaps, but still...)
I'm no longer young, I'm no longer fit, and I no longer have hair.
The challenge
To prove I'm in denial about my age and physical condition, in 12 weeks I'm going to ride my bike 160 km through Noosa's hilly hinterland.
For perspective, I haven't ridden a road bike for over a year (since I was run down by a crazed lunatic in a Toyota). My daily exercise is mainly checking the fridge for  leftover food and/or beer.
I know I can do this, because in 2004 I competed in the Launceston to Hobart bike race. By way of full disclosure, I stopped just over halfway because I was cold, and my legs hurt.
My challenge
Yes, I need to lose some kilograms. I'm working on that. I need to do some training, and that will happen. I think I've found a suitable bike, and I'm sure it will be fine once I work out how the gears work. I've got 12 weeks, which is plenty.
Your challenge
Throw some bucks at my Quixotic challenge. Doesn't matter if it's $1, $2 or $50 - I'd love to have you along for the ride. You'll get regular updates showcasing my rapidly declining weight, escalating fitness, and perhaps even video footage of my cycling prowess. You will be entertained, this I promise.
